riding with Team Troll since 2012

I was a self-professed couch potato until I was 32. At that time my 36 year old boss died of a heart attack and I knew I had to change my lifestyle if I didn't want to share the same fate. I started working out at home, then at the gym, started teaching aerobics, and doing triathlons.

While, like most people, I've been riding bikes since childhood, it was the triathlons that got me "into" cycling. When my then 6 year old son started racing BMX, I couldn't just watch. So, I bought a 24" cruiser and raced the Michigan BMX circuit for 5 years. After BMX, both my son and I started racing mountain bikes.

I've worked for GE Healthcare for the last 26 years as a Field Service Engineer. I am now a League of American Bicyclists certified cycling instructor, teach bicycle education on the week long Pedal Across Lower Michigan tour each year, do at least one self-contained (usually solo) bike tour each year, and own and operate a mobile bicycle service. At last count, my family has 19 bikes in the garage and we call ourselves a cycling family.
